Fair Work Education and Information Program
On behalf of the Australian Government, the ACT & Region Chamber of
Commerce & Industry is pleased to present a series of informative seminars
to explain the operation of Australia’s new Workplace Relations law: the
Fair Work Act 2009.
Seminars will explain in
plain English the main features of the legislation and how it affects you.
Phase 1 Seminars, from the
beginning of September to mid-October, will provide an overview of the
Fair Work Act and focus on the Unfair Dismissal provisions and Collective
Bargaining arrangements.
Phase 2 Seminars,
commencing from mid-October, will look at the “Safety Net” provisions of
the Fair Work Act (the National Employment Standards and Modern Awards) as
well as the Government organisations set up to assist employers and
employees and to enforce the requirements of the law.
These seminars may be
attended by any member of the public, but will be especially relevant for
business owners and operators. The seminars will be offered at key
locations throughout the ACT Region.
Go to
www.actchamber.com.au to
book your place in the seminars, or ring the ACT & Region Chamber of
Commerce on (02) 6283 5200.
