Calling Off those telemarketers!!

If you thought there was no way of escaping those evening interruptions from telemarketers offering once-in-alifetime-too-good-to-refuse offers...................

well, here's a way.

The Australian Direct Marketing Association (ADMA) offers a Do Not Contact service. You can request that your name and contact details be removed from the marketing lists used by ADMA members. The service is free to residential consumers.

ADMA has more than 500 members, including banks, insurance companies, publishers, catalogue and mail order companies, and charities. Companies using direct marketing activities accept that some consumers prefer not to receive direct marketing offers at home and comply with Do Not Contact requests.

According to ADMA, once your request has been processed you should notice a decrease in new addressed advertising mail, telephone calls, emails and mobile communications from member and some non-member companies - it will not stop direct mail from all non-member companies. Your contact details will be retained by companies of which you are a current customer.

ADMA's Do Not Contact service does not prevent the delivery of household flyers from local retailers or telephone calls from market research firms, real estate agents and local businesses.

How to use ADMA's Do Not Contact Service

You have the following options to request removal of your contact details from the marketing lists used by ADMA members:

 2. email your details to info@adma.com.au
