Preparing your application

You should include in your application:

·      A summary of your work experience;

·      A statement briefly describing how you consider yourself suitable against the selection criteria;

Position Description:   Mobile Business Advisor

 

Responsible to:                 Executive Officer of the Capital Region BEC

Salary Range:                    $55,000 - $70,000 plus home garaged vehicle.

Hours:                                Flexible, 32 to 40 hrs per week.

 

Tasks and Activities:

The Mobile Business Advisor will, under limited direction provide low cost information, advice and referral service to small business operators. 

 

General Activities and responsibilities will include:

·       face to face information and advice to small business people

·       encouragement of business-to-business networking

·       assistance with mentoring programs

·       assistance to small business people with of Marketing and Business plans

·       encouragement of the use of e-commerce and online resources such as the www.business.gov.au

·       referral services to relevant government and business organisations for small businesses

·       provide feedback to government on emerging needs and issues of concern of small business owners

 

Education Requirements:

·     It is a requirement of this particular position that you are qualified with a degree or equivalent to give legal or accounting advice.

 

Selection Criteria

 Skills and abilities:

·       ability to empathise and work with small business operators to achieve their goals;

·       ability to work individually, and as part of a small team;

·       possession of a current drivers licence and the capacity to travel daily within the region;

 Highly Desirable:

  • Experience in operating or managing a small business enterprise. 

 

 The successful applicant will need to be willing to complete a Certificate IV in Small Business Facilitation or equivalent.
