Biggest CRBEC Networking Breakfast Ever!

A record 185 businesspeople from around the region came to hear media identity Ita Buttrose talk at a business breakfast in Queanbeyan recently.
Ita was the guest of Australia Post, who held a breakfast in conjunction with the Capital Region BEC to launch their 2005 NSW/ACT Small Business Awards.
Ita talked about her determination to become a journalist, despite opposition from male colleagues. After winning a cadetship she went on to hold many senior positions in the media. Ita was the founding editor of Cleo magazine in 1972, then became editor of Australian's Women's Weekly, editor in chief of the Daily and Sunday Telegraphs and editor in chief of the Sun Herald.
Ita entertained the audience with her stories of encounters with members of the Packer and Murdoch empires.
She also touched hearts with her commitment to charity and community organisations. "I believe in giving back" she said
Although she bought a property in Bowral to spend more time relaxing when not working in Sydney, Ita is now editor of Highlife and working on new ventures.
"Never ever let anybody take away your dreams" was her advice for the aspiring businessperson.
