Speaker: Mandy Newton          

Mandy is National Manager Aviation Security for the Australian Federal Police.

Her responsibilities include Counter Terrorism First Response, a unified policing model at Major Australian airports, the Air Security Officer Program, canine and explosive detection capability and Regional Rapid Deployment Teams.

As a member of the ACT Policing executive from 2002 to 2005, she oversaw all portfolios and developed considerable knowledge, skill and operational experience regarding Community Policing and issues specific to the local community.

Mandy's career experience has included working with the Australian Taxation Office as Assistant Commissioner. Also the ACTEW Corporation, the local utility company who provides the community with running water, waste water operation, reticulation and construction engineering.

Commander Newton possesses a wide range of leadership, operational and management skills developed in government and private sectors. Supporting this extensive policing and managerial experience, she has gained a Master in Business Administration and a Graduate Certificate in Police Management.

Mandy is a skilled public speaker and brings humour and insightfulness into her busy professional life.
